FASTRACK TECHNOLOGY ACCELERATES APPLICATION DELIVERY WITH THE BROCADE VIRTUAL TRAFFIC MANAGER

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA; October 29, 2015 – Leading IT, consulting and deployment services provider Fastrack Technology has improved the management of its network traffic by deploying the Brocade® Virtual Traffic Manager (vTM). Fastrack Technology is the latest customer in Australia to roll out the solution and use it to improve the scalability and performance of its managed services, plus extend the offering to its own clients as a virtual service offering.

Fastrack Technology needed additional flexibility to match the dynamic demands of its fast-growing software-as-a-service business. A new breed of Application Delivery Controller (ADC) that is purely software-based—running on the same hypervisors that support the company’s cloud-based operation—Brocade vTM enables Fastrack Technology to modernise its application delivery strategy, with the ability to spin up new capacity on demand.

“We needed a better solution for load-balancing application traffic that is easier to manage, with the application acceleration and smart failover capabilities to deliver on our commitment to premium services levels,” said Yoni Kirsh, managing director of Fastrack Technology. “With Brocade vTM now in place, everything is virtual. We just click a button and it happens in a very predictable and easily configurable manner. What’s more, while our cloud hosting customers originally had to provide their own physical load balancers to support their applications, we can now offer this as a service that’s virtual, agile, and immediately available.”

Deployment of Brocade vTM is the latest step in Fastrack Technology’s program of infrastructure transformation through Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV). The company has already gained early-mover advantage in the Australian market by becoming one of the first companies to deploy Brocade vRouter software networking technology, which also runs on industry-standard hypervisors, as a core component of its data center operations.

Brocade vTM works within cloud environments and is easily integrated into an application stack. It is the industry’s only complete software-defined Layer 7 ADC with integrated web content optimization capabilities, freeing applications from the constraints of traditional monolithic load balancers. And because it runs as a virtual machine on industry-standard servers in virtualisation environments, it is far more cost-effective to deploy and easier to manage than traditional ADCs.

“We applaud how Fastrack Technology is leading the way in the continued integration of service-enabling technology solutions. It really is another example of how Fastrack Technology is changing the game for itself and its customer base, in an environment where virtualised solutions can provide a wide range of commercial benefits and business innovation,” said Gary Denman, senior director, Australia and New Zealand, Brocade.
